We’re thrilled to introduce our new bar coded tags! They are simple to use and will save you a lot of time in data entry. Please read these simple instructions first and let us know if you have any questions, concerns, or feedback.
HINT: Your tagging process will go even faster if you sort by size/gender before you start to enter your data on the computer! We've designed our tags to be FREE of pull-down menus which slow down the tagging process.
General Info:
Please make sure you schedule a drop off appointment. Please arrive with your items sorted by gender and size and pre-tagged. You will need to bring a printed copy of your Inventory Sheet along with a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to your drop off appointment. If you don’t bring a SASE we will deduct $1.00 from your proceeds to mail you your check.
- You must pre-register with us and receive a Consignor ID and Password from us before you can use our online process. These numbers are CaSe SeNsiTive so please enter them accurately. If you forget either your ID or Password, just ask us but please don’t wait till midnight or the last minute as we don’t have an auto responder, its simply Susan replying to you.
- MAC Users: you must contact us first as the link below won’t work for you.
- PC Users: You must use Internet Explorer (IE) for the Fall/Winter 2009 sale. In the future we hope to have other browser options but for the Fall/Winter 2009 sale you will have to use IE.
- Tags must be printed on cardstock (not regular paper). We prefer light colored cardstock but ultimately you can use any color. Make sure your bar codes print clearly please. Paper tags don't hold up to the volume of shoppers we have. If there's no tag on an item we can't sell it.
- Item #: it is predetermined and will increase automatically; you don’t need to do anything. For the Fall/Winter 2009 sale ONLY: If you are using tags from a previous Boutique Armoire sale without bar codes along with the new barcoded tags you MUST make sure you don’t submit two different items with the same item numbers. We do NOT accept tags from any other consignment sale.
- Sex: Please enter M for Male, F for Female and N for Neutral/both genders.
- Description: type something that will help us if figure out where the tag goes if it gets separated from the garment. You can use parenthesis (), dashes -, Ampersands &. You can NOT use quotes “, apostrophes ‘, punctuation marks ?!, plus sign + etc. If you get an error message on this line check to see if you used an offending character, that is most likely the cause.
- Size: please use numbers. Do not use words/abbreviations such as: small, medium, large, XL, etc. If you don’t know what size number the item is try to estimate what size your child was when s/he wore it or compare it to existing garments. 6x is a legitimate size to use for clothes. We hang all clothes by size and gender and don’t have categories for S, M, L, XL etc. You can use .5 for half sizes (especially with shoes) EX: 7.5. If a clothing item is slim, plus, or husky feel free to type that after the number: EX: 6 SLIM
For European sizes please list it and the corresponding American size. If the item doesn’t list an American size, try to compare to other garments (or look on the manufacturer’s website). Example how to type a European size = 22/6 (this happens to be a shoe size). Please don’t package shoes in plastic bags.
- Regular Price: This is the amount that your item will sell for during our presale and the first day of our public sale. Only enter the number. Do NOT enter Dollar Sign $ or comma , . If you are pricing in less than whole dollars please type like this 8.5 (this represents eight dollars 50 cents). Again, no commas or dollar signs please.
- Disc Price: This is the amount that your item will sell for on our final day. You can sell for less than the previous days or leave the price unchanged. One of the advantages of The Boutique Armoire is we allow you to discount your items on the final day as much as you want and not force a set percentage. You don’t have to discount at all. If you want the price the same, ENTER 0 (zero) and an “NR” will appear on your tag showing “No Reduction”. Please double check that your prices are what you want them to be and you did not transpose any numbers.
- Donate after Sale: check this box if you do not want this item returned to you if it doesn’t sell, especially if you don't plan on coming to pickup your unsold items.
- Save New Tag: click this radio button to save your work. Once saved, you can edit your entries at any point in time. After you click this you will be brought to your Inventory List page. To enter a new item simply click “add new item” and enter your next item. Note your item number will advance by one.
- Pickup of unsold items is Sunday August 23, 1:30-2:30pm. All items not picked up by 2:30pm become property of The Boutique Armoire, regardless if you checked the donate box or not.
- It is your responsibility to check the recall and lead limit status of the items you are selling. You may check with this link: http://www.cpsc.gov/.
These may seem involved but the process is really quite simple. Thank you for consigning and helping us have a fabulous sale!
