LAST MINUTE TAGGERS:
the server gets very busy with those of you who wait until the very end, please be patient! If you get an error message "Provider error '80004005' " it means the server is just really busy. If you are down to the wire and can't get in you can use our old excel template
. We are setting up an alternate site to handle the overload should the server get too busy. The alternate site will be structured a bit differently and you won't get the same detailed report at the end of the sale. We encourage you to tag early to avoid this potential situation.

How to Tag Your Items

Open the Tag Template/Inventory Sheet. This is now a web based document. You will need your Consignor ID and password to be assigned to you first.

Click here for our instructions on using our new Bar Coded Tags

To print tags: you will be unable to change the tags in any way from the tag sheet. In order to print just the number of tags you have filled out, click "print preview" to see how many pages of tags you need to print. Then on the print screen, enter that page range to print (example print page 1 to 4).You may then print your tags and attach them to your items.

All items MUST be tagged using only The Boutique Armoire tags and printed on CARDSTOCK.

For accuracy and efficiency at check out along with the reporting process to you after the sale's conclusion we prefer you to use our new Bar Coded Tags exclusively.

All items must be tagged and all tags must be printed on heavy card stock. Please do NOT use paper as the tags don't hold up through the sale. Please do not staple paper tags to heavier material (ie: index cards). We reserve the right to reject any items tagged with paper tags or paper stapled to index cards or card stock.

They should be attached with a safety pin or stapled to the inside tag of the garment (please try not to obscure the brand name) as shown in the picture. If the garment tag is not easily accessible, you may pin our tag to the neckline or waistline. We tag this way to minimize damage to the garment from the pins. If a garment is brand new and still has tags from the store on it you may staple to the stores tags.

Any items tagged using paper or straight pins will be returned to the consignor.

VERY IMPORTANT: Please check that your ink is printing clearly. If we can't read the price or consignor id, we can't sell your item.

    How to indicate a size:
  • For infant sizes, please use the following size range. All others use the actual numerical size. We hang garments by the smallest number in the range.
  • 0-3 months 12 months
    3-6 months 18 months
    6-9 months 24 months
    9-12 months

If an item ran extremely small or large, please tag it to the most appropriate size despite what the garment said. EX: garment tag states it's a 4T but you feel it really ran like a 3T then mark it 3T and mention that it ran small on your tag. If an item is classified as Slim, Plus, Husky, please add that after the size: EX: 5 Husky or 8 Slim.

Please do NOT use Small, Medium, Large, X-Large or their abbreviations: S-M-L-XL etc for the size. Please give it a numerical size as that is where it will be hung. Please compare it to something else your child wore and mark it accordingly. Make it easy for your item to sell!

European Sizes: Please list both the European number and the American equivalent EX: 122/7. If you don't know the American equivalent we strongly encourage you to estimate it or look it up on the manufacturers website. If the consumer has to guess they are less likely to buy your item. Make it easy for the customer to buy! You can try these links to see if your sizes are listed for conversions: Shoes1, Shoes/Socks2, German Conversions/Great General Info, Clothes, Naartjie's charts, Ebay's Chart

  • Description - please give a brief description of your item. This helps in the event the tag becomes separated from the item or is mis-tagged. Example: "Baby Lulu pink floral dress & diaper cvr 2pcs" (do not use quotation marks in your description)

  • Price - VERY IMPORTANT! We will not be able to sell items without prices. Please use .50 cent increments when pricing. Suggested pricing is 25-33% of original price depending on condition/features/etc. Ultimately, ask yourself, "would I pay $X for this item"? Please make sure your ink is printing clearly and not hard to read.

  • NOTE: The tags have been reformatted to give you the opportunity to have a lower price (of any or all items) for the final day of the sale. If you chose, you may lower the price as much or a little as you would like (no forced percentage) - as long as it is in .50 cent increments. You may also opt not to lower the price. In this case, just enter 0 (zero) when tagging an an "NR" will appear which indicates "No Reduction".

All clothing items should be on hangers with the open part of the hanger facing left to look like a question mark as shown in the picture. Two piece outfits may be pinned to the hanger or tied together. Please only use one price tag per multi-piece outfit.

Tags on baby gear, furniture, DVDs or toys should be securely affixed using packing tape or masking tape. Please do not tape over the entire tag. Our volunteers will need to remove it in order to sell the item.

Please do NOT package shoes in zip lock bags. Use cable wraps, ties, ribbon or other means of keeping the shoes together. There is a limit of 10 pairs of shoes per consignor. You can tape the tag to the sole of a shoe, pin it to a lace or eyelet hole, etc.
